The Nagpur District Table Tennis Association will host the 2nd Maharashtra State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament from August 9 to 13 at the Subhedar Hall of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University in Ravi Nagar.
The 2nd Maharashtra State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament in Nagpur has attracted around 1,000 entries from across the state. The event will feature participation from India’s top-ranked and international players, including Nagpur’s Jennifer Varghese, who recently clinched a bronze medal for the country.
Mangesh Mopkar will serve as the Chief Referee, while Deepak Kanetkar will take on the role of Deputy Referee. They will be assisted by a team of 25 umpires to ensure the tournament runs smoothly. In the women’s singles, Pritha Vartikar from Pune is the top seed, followed by Nashik’s Sayali Wani in second place and Reeth Rishya from Thane as the third seed.
In men’s section, The Sub Urban Table Tennis Association, Mumbai’s (TST) Chinmaya Somaiya got the top billing while Shubham Ambre of Mumbai City District Table Tennis Association (MCD) is seeded second and Tanmay Rane (MCD) third.
