The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has announced that the SSC and HSC exams for 2025 will be held earlier than usual. Schools have until August 23 to provide feedback or raise concerns about the new exam dates. This is the earliest the board has announced exam dates, with the 2024 dates being released in November of the previous year.
According to the schedule, the HSC theory exams will start on February 11 and end on March 18. In a change from previous years, the HSC practical exams will begin in January, running from January 24 to February 10. SSC theory exams will start on February 21 and finish on March 17, with practical and oral exams scheduled from February 3 to 20. Board officials noted that the earlier exam dates will benefit HSC students by allowing more time for competitive exam preparation, while SSC students will benefit from quicker results and earlier admissions to First Year Junior College. For comparison, the SSC 2024 exams were held from March 1 to 14, and the HSC 2024 exams took place from February 21 to March 9.
Additionally, the online filling of Form-17 for students taking SSC and HSC exams as private candidates in February-March 2025 will begin on Tuesday, August 13. Form-17 will be available from August 13 to September 30. The fee for SSC students is Rs 1,100, while HSC students appearing privately will need to pay Rs 700.
