The Nagpur Municipal Corporation is introducing ‘Atmanirbhar Ward’ (Self-Reliant Ward) project under its cleanliness drive. The project will be implemented from September 1. NMC Administrator Dr Abhijit Chaudhari and other senior officers have appealed to the people to participate voluntarily to achieve cleanliness in the city.
The zero-waste programme with proper segregation of wet and dry waste, partition in the waste collection vehicles, and GPS app will be used for collecting waste from every house.
A Decentralised Processing Unit will be installed in the ward through the participation of social organisations, so that the waste collected can be processed in the ward itself.
