After launching two popular schemes, Ladki Bahin and Ladka Bhau, the state government has introduced a new initiative called ‘Mukhya Mantri Yojnadoot.’ This program appoints messengers (called dhoot) to spread awareness about government schemes among the public. So far, 1,719 people from the Nagpur division have applied, and a total of 5,369 messengers will be selected from the region.
In Maharashtra, more than 25,000 people have already registered for the program.
The initiative, aimed at increasing public awareness of government schemes, is being carried out by the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations. A total of 50,000 messengers will be appointed across the state to educate citizens about welfare programs. Each village panchayat will have its own messenger, while in urban areas, one messenger will be assigned for every 5,000 residents.
The initiative will cover both rural and urban areas, ensuring that information about government schemes reaches citizens throughout the state. Messengers will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs 10,000 for six months. In the Nagpur division, registrations began on September 7, and candidates are encouraged to apply on the official website, www.mahayojanadoot.org, before the deadline on September 13.
To qualify for the ‘Mukhya Mantri Yojnadoot’ initiative, candidates must meet certain requirements. They should be between 18 and 35 years old, have a graduate degree in any field, and hold a valid Maharashtra Domicile Certificate.
