Nagpur: Sindhu Education Society and the Indian Taxpayers Association are set to organize a walkathon on January 13 to raise awareness about the harmful effects of Chinese (nylon) manja. The 6-km walkathon will begin and conclude at Mahatma Gandhi High School, Jaripatka, and is open to all citizens.
Addressing a press conference, Deepak Bajaj, Secretary of Sindhu Education Society, announced that Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravindra Singal will serve as the chief guest and flag off the event.
The initiative has garnered support from the police and education departments. A short film directed by Prince Deepak Bajaj is also being shown in schools across the city to spread the message.
“We are expecting around 3,500 students and citizens to participate in the walkathon. Gift hampers will be given to the top finishers,” Bajaj added.
