Dhanbad: A reputed private school in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad is facing public outrage after its principal allegedly forced Class 10 girls to remove their shirts and sent them home wearing only blazers. The incident occurred on Thursday during a celebratory “Pen Day” event, where students wrote good wishes on each other’s shirts to mark their final exam day.
Following the event, the principal reportedly scolded the students and made them remove their shirts, refusing to allow them to put them back on. Around 100 female students were affected, with many recounting the traumatic experience to their parents in tears.
A video of distressed students has surfaced on social media, sparking widespread condemnation. Parents, accompanied by local legislator Ragini Singh, approached Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra demanding strict action against the principal.
Mishra assured them of a thorough investigation, announcing the formation of a committee to probe the incident and promising stringent action. “The administration is committed to ensuring justice,” said Singh, calling the incident “unfortunate and shameful.”
The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
