Innovator and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk recently visited the Mankapur Sports Complex, where 365 trees, including 60 heritage trees, face the threat of being cut down for upcoming hotel and infrastructure projects. These trees, vital to the city’s ecosystem, are not only essential for the environment but also symbolize Nagpur’s living heritage.

Environmentalists from Nagpur invited Wangchuk to tour the city, highlighting the urgent need to protect its green cover. His visit has significantly strengthened the Save Nagpur’s Green Lungs Movement, raising public awareness and motivating citizens to rally together against environmental degradation. Wangchuk’s support has reignited hope in the community, inspiring active involvement in preserving the city’s natural resources.
