The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) is set to conduct the Maharashtra Group B (Non-Gazetted) Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2024 on February 2.
According to a media report, students have been receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to be from a Consultancy based in Nagpur. These callers allegedly offered to provide the exam paper the night before the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination in exchange for a large sum of money.
One of the phone recordings reveals a conversation where the caller says, “Hello, this is (Consultancy name) from Nagpur. As discussed, we will provide you with the question paper for the Maharashtra Group B examination scheduled for January 2. You need to join a meeting via WhatsApp, and then everything will be arranged.”
Another call received by the same student involved an offer to provide the exam paper before February 2 in exchange for Rs 40 lakh. The caller insisted, “You can choose not to pay a single rupee for the exam, but you will need to submit your original documents. We will also provide you with the question paper for the main exam.” The conversation goes on to mention, “Don’t talk to anyone about this phone call. We have all your details. If you’re serious about getting the job, let us know, and we will proceed.”
The phone calls have caused an uproar among students, sparking rumors of a massive recruitment scam. Honest students preparing for the exam are now fearful, and the incident has created a sense of panic.
To verify the truth of these claims, the affected students are planning to file complaints with MPSC.
