Reigning champions India secured their second straight ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup title with a dominant nine-wicket victory over South Africa in the final on Sunday.
Chasing a modest target of 83, India comfortably reached 86/1, with Gongadi Trisha anchoring the innings with an unbeaten 40, while Sanika Chalke remained not out on 17.
Bowlers Set Up India’s Commanding Win
Earlier, India’s disciplined bowling attack dismantled South Africa, restricting them to just 82 runs in 20 overs. Opting to bowl first, India struck early with back-to-back wickets, setting the tone for a clinical performance.
Gongadi Trisha starred with the ball as well, claiming three wickets, while Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma picked up two wickets each. Shabnam Md Shakil also contributed with a wicket, ensuring the defending champions maintained their grip on the game.
