The Traffic Control Branch of Nagpur City Police has announced traffic restrictions on the Sitabuldi flyover from Marchz 6 to 15 to facilitate maintenance work by the National Highway Sub-Division No. 2 of the Public Works Department. The scheduled work includes the application of thermoplastic paint and median markers.
Traffic Diversions and Timings
- March 6 to 10 (11 PM – 5 AM): The flyover will be open for one-way traffic from Morris College T-Point to Rahate Colony Square. Traffic in the opposite direction will be restricted.
- March 11 to 15 (11 PM – 5 AM): The traffic flow will be reversed, allowing movement from Rahate Colony Square to Morris College T-Point, while the other side remains closed.
Alternative Routes
During the restrictions, vehicles traveling from Rahate Colony to Morris College T-Point can use the side roads via Lokmat Square, Panchsheel Square, Jhansi Rani Square, and Variety Square, as per a notification issued by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Madhuri Bawiskar.
The announcement, which came into effect on March 6, was issued the same day, leaving little time for commuters to prepare. Typically, such notifications are released in advance to minimize inconvenience, but the sudden announcement has taken many road users by surprise.
