The State Government is planning to start flight operations at the Belora Airport in Amravati on March 31. The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Monday.
The air calibration of the precision approach path indicator test has been completed. The Director General of Civil Aviation has been requested to grant clearance.
Pawar indicated that the air service between Amravati and Mumbai is expected to start from March 31. The new airstrip of 18 by 50 meters has been laid using modern technology and is capable of handling the 72-seater ATR aircraft.
