The Prime Minister will visit Nagpur on March 30 to launch important defence and healthcare projects and take part in cultural and development events. His visit will start at 9 AM with a visit to RSS Smruti Mandir during the Sangh’s ‘Pratipada’ programme, which marks the Hindu New Year. He will then go to Deekshabhoomi to pay tribute to BR Ambedkar, who adopted Buddhism here in 1956 with thousands of followers.
A major highlight of the visit will be the foundation-laying ceremony of the Madhav Netralaya Centre at 10 AM. This new extension of the Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute and Research Centre aims to enhance eye care with advanced medical facilities while keeping it affordable. Established in 2014, the institute is a top super-specialty eye care center, founded in memory of former RSS chief Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar.
The expansion will include a 250-bed hospital, 14 outpatient departments (OPDs), and 14 modular operation theatres, making high-quality eye care more accessible. At 12:30 PM, Modi will inaugurate new defence infrastructure at Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited in Nagpur. This includes a 1,250-meter-long runway for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and a Loitering Munition Testing Range.
