A threat to blow up the Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court was received via email on Tuesday. The email was received around 12 noon, following which the Court administration informed the police. Police immediately started the search operation with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad.
The email was received from Chennai. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Ranjit Pati, with other senior officers, rushed to the High Court building to monitor the search operation.
Entry into the court was being monitored with strict security measures, instead of pressing the panic button.
A similar threat was received by the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court and the Guwahati High Court on March 24, 2025.
