Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Nagpur district administration has placed all departments on high alert. District Collector and Magistrate Dr. Vipin Itankar on Saturday has ordered the cancellation of all leaves of government officials and directed them to remain stationed at their headquarters for immediate deployment, if required.
The decision was taken during a comprehensive emergency preparedness review meeting held at the Planning Bhavan. The meeting, chaired by Dr. Itankar, was attended by Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, NIT Chairman Sanjay Mina, NDRF Director Dr. Hari Om Gandhi, Zilla Parishad CEO Vinayak Mahamuni, Additional Municipal Commissioners Vasumana Pant and B. Vaishnavi, Acting SP Ramesh Dhumal, Deputy Conservator of Forests Bharat Singh Hada, former DG of Fire Services Rajesh Chaudhary, and other senior administrative and security officials.

Drone Usage Restricted; Prior Permission Mandatory
As a precautionary measure, the administration has made it mandatory to seek prior permission for operating drones during any public or private event in the district.
Healthcare Services Directed to Remain Emergency-Ready
In light of possible emergency situations, all health facilities have been instructed to ensure availability of hospital beds, functional medical equipment, and emergency supplies. The administration is also encouraging blood donation drives to maintain sufficient blood reserves in the district.
Strict Action Against Spread of Fake News
Issuing a strong warning, Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal stated that strict legal action will be taken against anyone spreading false information or disturbing public peace through social media. He urged citizens, especially the youth, to act responsibly and avoid actions that could disrupt law and order.
Home Guards and Emergency Services Put on Alert
Home Guard units have been asked to remain fully prepared to support law enforcement and healthcare services as needed. Dr. Itankar emphasized the importance of public cooperation and maintaining social harmony during this sensitive period.
Official Communication Channels Advised for Updates
Citizens have been urged to rely solely on verified government sources for information. The District Information Office is sharing official videos and emergency guidelines on social media to raise public awareness and prevent misinformation.
Essential Services to Function Without Disruption
Municipal bodies, panchayats, and civic departments have been instructed to ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential services, including water supply, electricity, public healthcare, and food distribution. Department heads have been asked to act responsibly and coordinate closely with other agencies.
Fuel and Gas Supplies Sufficient: No Cause for Panic
The administration has assured that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG in the district. Citizens have been advised to purchase fuel only as per their regular needs and avoid panic buying.
