In Chandrapur’s Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, 63 tigers, 13 leopards, 582 bisons, and other wild animals were sighted during the ‘Nisarg Anubhav’ programme on Buddha Purnima (Full Moon Day).
The wild animal census was carried out by the Forest Department officers with nature lovers through five Machans in Moharli, Tadoba, Kolsa, Kolara, and Karwa, six in the buffer zone of Mul, Chandrapur, Shivni, Palasgaon, Khandsangi, and Moharli, 96 Machans in the core area, and 81 nature lovers on 81 Machans in the buffer zone. The nature lovers and Forest officials also recorded 93 bears, 87 Neelgai (Blue buck), 551 peacocks, 1,737 chital (spotted deer), 553 Sambar, 381 wild boar, and many bird species.
