Pursuant to the decision of the Government of Maharashtra to rename Usmanabad as Dharashiv, Indian Railways has changed the name of Usmanabad Railway Station to Dharashiv Railway Station. Consequently, the new station name and code have been approved by the Indian Railways Conference Association.
The station previously known as Usmanabad with the station code UMD has now been officially renamed as Dharashiv with the new station code DRSV.
Accordingly, the new name of the station is to be read and written in the following manner:
In Devanagari Script (Marathi): धाराशिव
In Devanagari Script (Hindi): धाराशिव
In Roman Script (English): DHARASHIV
All railway records, signage, announcements, and passenger information systems will be updated to reflect the new name.
Passengers and the general public are requested to take note of the change.
To implement the name change, Mumbai PRS (Passenger Reservation System) will be temporarily shut down for a brief period of 1 hour 45 minutes i.e from 23:45 hrs of 31.05.2025 to 01:30 hrs of 01.06.2025. During this period of shutdown, changes related to the renaming of Usmanabad station to Dharashiv and necessary updates will be carried out.
