Nagpur: The Nagpur District Badminton Association (NDBA), in collaboration with the Maharashtra Badminton Association (MBA), is set to host the Diffusion Engineer Ltd Presents Yonex-Sunrise Maharashtra First Junior State U-19 Selection Badminton Tournament at the Arundhati Arun Badminton Academy in Besa, Nagpur. The tournament will take place from June 25, 2025.
The event will bring together some of the most promising young shuttlers from across Maharashtra, competing in five main categories — boys’ singles, girls’ singles, boys’ doubles, girls’ doubles, and mixed doubles.
Organisers have confirmed that the tournament will follow all regulations laid out by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), including dress code requirements and structured protest protocols. The event also carries a total prize purse of ₹2,08,000, and will serve as a key selection platform for athletes aiming to represent Maharashtra in the upcoming West Zone Badminton Championship 2025.
Entries are to be submitted online via the official MBA portal (www.mbasso.in), with approval from the respective district secretaries. The deadline for registration is June 19, and the official draw will be released on June 24 on the MBA website and at the venue.
The tournament is being organised under the guidance of MBA president Arun Lakhani and senior vice-president Mangesh Kashikar, who is also serving as the tournament secretary.
