Five-time national champion and Eklavya Awardee Pratima Bonde from Nagpur will represent India at the Para Powerlifting World Cup 2025 in Beijing. Ranked 11th in the world, Bonde will compete in the 50 kg weight category on the opening day of the event.
She secured her spot based on her strong performances at the 21st National Para Powerlifting Championships 2025 and Khelo India 2025, where she recorded her best lift of 86 kg—a record she aims to surpass at the World Cup.
Bonde has been training for the past few years under Dronacharya Awardee Vijay Munishwar, founder of Indian Para Powerlifting, at the Munishwar Health Club in Mahal. She is accompanied by her coach Rajinder Singh Rahelu. MSPA working president Manoj Balbudhe, along with Shivam Naik, Shripad, and supporters at MHC Gym, congratulated her and wished her the best for her performance in Beijing.
