As the flyover from Bhole Petrol Pump–Futala on Amravati Road inches closer to completion, mismanaged traffic has turned the surrounding area into a ticking time bomb. With no traffic police presence and a rise in wrong-side driving, the stretch near RTO Office has become a hotspot for congestion and potential accidents.
The problem began when the cement road from Law College Square via RTO to Bhole Square was reopened, but the reverse route from Bhole to Law College was closed off. Instead of taking official diversions via Raja Rani Square or MLA Hostel, impatient drivers are dangerously racing against the flow—on a narrow, single-lane road.
The result? Two-way chaos on a stretch meant for one-way traffic, with long vehicle queues and daily close calls, especially near the RTO gate. Construction company guards are posted at Law College Square, but Bhole Square lacks any traffic management, making it a free-for-all zone during the day.
Locals say night barricades provide minimal relief, but daytime disorder continues unchecked. “Every day someone risks their life just to save a few minutes. A serious accident is just a matter of time,” said a shopkeeper near the junction.
Residents are now demanding immediate deployment of traffic police at Bhole Petrol Pump to restore order. With the flyover in its final stages, citizens worry that years of infrastructure planning could be undone by a lack of basic traffic control.
Wrong is becoming routine—and that’s the real danger.
