IM Nubairshah Sheik of Maharashtra and Telangana’s IM Sai Agni Jeevitesh emerged joint leaders with six points each at the end of sixth round of All India Open Rapid Chess Tournament at Naivedhyam Northstar Koradi, here on Thursday.
Earlier the tournament was inaugurated by  youngest Grand Master Rounak Sadhwani  pushing the pawn in front of the King. NDCA president Dilip Kamdar, secretary  KK Barat , R.N Shriwas along with Bharat Sadhwani and  Hina Sadhwani were present on the occasion. Tournament organising secretary Sushant Jumde of Jai Sai Welfare Foundation , chief arbiter Swapnil Bansod were also present on the occasion.
On top board city’s IM Sankalp Gupta held GM RR Laxman to a draw. Both have 5.5 points to their credit. On second board, IM Mohammad Nubairshah Shaikh  defeated  IM Girinath to emerge joint leader. IM Sai Agni Jeetivesh recorded the victory over Dishank Bajaj.

(5.5) drew with IM Sankalp Gupta (5.5), IM Mohammad Nubairshah Shaikh  (6) bt IM Girinath (5), IM Sai Agni Jeevitesh  (6) bt Dishank Sachin Bajaj (5),FM Shailesh Dravid (5) bt Shah Asif (4.5),Marsattiwar Yash (4) lost to Vaibhav Jayant Raut (5), Suraj Jaiswal (5) bt Vivaan Vijay Saraogi (4), Prerak Jayant Darvekar (4) lost to Vedant Bhardwaj (5), Srivastava V.K. (4.5) drew with Ramteke Sumedh  (4.5), Deogade Salil (4.5) drew with Shoan Raj(4.5).
