Forest department along with state government has asked Public Works Department (PWD) to take permission before starting a construction work through the forest areas. The authorities have stated that the gravel road should not be covered with tar without permission.
Chandrashekhar Joshi, secretary of roads has ordered to the officials who previously interrupted the forest area and had constructed a road inside a green patch. Joshi further informed that the road status should not be changed and that the length and width of the road should be broaden.
“If there is saving of money than it should be deducted from the tender cost and savings money should not be released to the contractor. In case of violation of rules a strict action will be taken against any of the proceedings†said Joshi.
In regard to this two suo motu are already under proceedings at the high court, these cases were lodged as the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) NH7 road was broadened and was also covered with a layer of tar.
