Ticket theft: Conductors, driver of Aapli bus under NMC radar

During the tenure of Vansh Nimay. 200 buses were being run in the city, it used to earn 20 lakh to 25 lakh every day. Now, even after running 337 buses in the city, every day 18 lakh to 22 lakh are being earned.

It is said that conductors and drivers of Aapli Bus have formed WhatsApp Conductor Setup Group for the ticket fraud.Through this, the ticket is stolen by informing each other about the location of the ticket checker of Aapli bus. Due to this, the municipality is suffering a loss of 4 lakh to 5 lakh every day.

Meanwhile, chairman of the transport committee Balya Borkar told that seven conductors caught in the case of ticket theft and have been suspended. He further informed that in case a conductor is found involved in ticket theft, he will be expelled from his job. In order to reduce losses, it is necessary to stop the mismanagement of tickets. Checkers have been appointed for this, he added.

The DIMS company has formed flying squads. Through these squads, the Aapli bus’ is checked. But there is no support from conductors and drivers in this work.

Chairman Borkar has appealed that after giving money to the conductor, passengers should ask for tickets. In case of refusal to give tickets, contact the transport department of the NMC.
