In an exciting match, defending champion The Times of India pipped spirited Deshonnati by eight runs in 22nd OCW-SJAN Inter-Press Cricket Tournament at Ambedkar College ground, here on Monday.
The tournament has been organized by Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur (SJAN)Â Â in association with SBI and HCL Technologies.
Batting first TOI scored 176 for 3 in 20 overs. After losing three wickets for just 33, Rupesh Bhaik (81*, 59b, 13×4, 1×6) and Sandeep Dabhekar (58*, 44b, 10×4) made 143 run unbroken partnership for the fourth wicket.
In reply, Deshonnati missed the target by just eight runs. Sandeep Ganar’s 39-ball 77 run knock went in vain.
Former Indian wicket-keeper Kiran More gave man-of-the-match trophy to Rupesh Bhaik in the presence of VCA vice-president Prashant Vaidya and vice-principal of Dr Ambedkar College Dr Arvind Joshi.
