Ensuring peaceful celebration of festival of Holi the police have finalised the bandobast plan for city. About five Deputy Commissioners of Police, eight Assistant Commissioners of Police, 38 Police Inspectors, 203 Assistant Police Inspectors (APIs), 2023 male constable and 292 women police constable would be deputed on duty. Commissioner of Police Dr Bhushan Kumar Updhayay and Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kadam would be supervising the bandobast.
The city police have detained or taken action against 2020 criminals on record. Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, and his team are also keeping tabs on criminals and are ready to strike if and when needed to ensure celebrations are not marred by any incidents.
Each of the five police zones have a squad in readiness to be deployed in case of any eventuality. Also DB squads of respective police stations are also keeping tab and taking action against unlawful activities in their respective jurisdiction. Traffic Control Branch too has drawn-up plan to ensure smooth movement of traffic on thorough fares of city.Squads of BDDS would also be utilised to carry out safety checks at sensitive spots in city.
