After the news item published in a leading newspaper regarding the black spot cut on Sadar flyover, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has called a joint meeting of officials of relevant departments like National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Traffic Department and Mahametro to solve the problem. Member of Parliament Road Safety Committee, Chandrasekhar Mohite stated that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has expressed concern over the problem of black spot. To solve this problem, he directed the concerned officials of the NHAI,Traffic Department and Mahametro to call a joint meeting.
Earlier,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sarang Awhad had inspected the Sadar flyover and recommended appropriate steps.Similarly,NHAI’s project director Abhijit Zichkar also stated that the problem will be resolved by discussing the options of smooth traffic with the Deputy Commissioner of Police(Traffic).Chandrasekhar Mohite stated that the black spot near the gate of Moyle at the old Katol Naka Chowk end of the Sadar flyover should be closed with immediate effect. Drivers can go a little further and take a U-turn from the chowk but it is not proper to risk life for shortcuts. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari directed the authorities to hold the joint meeting of the concerned departments.
