Municipal commissioner Radhakrishnan B has issued order to resume regular classes of students from Std 5th to Std 8th in all schools under municipal corporation from February 8.
The commissioner furthers requested parents to send their children to schools while following all safety guidelines.
It is worth mentioning here that, regular classes for Std 9th to Std 12th have already started in the city however, the classes are yet attain full strength.
The municipal commissioner in his order has said that schools would have to follow all Covid safety guidelines. The schools should make available thermometer, thermal scanner, pulse oximeter, sanitiser and soap.
Classrooms have to be sanitised before the classes begin.
The teaching and non-teaching staff members must under go RT-PCR test and present report before the manage ment committies of the schools. Only one student would be allowed to sit on every bench. Maintaining social distancing is mandatory. Classes under no condition would be conducted in non-ventilated rooms. It is mandatory to keep windows and doors open in all classrooms. The schools found to be violating the norms would have to face strict action.
School buses must be sanitised twice along with the classrooms, the school buses are also to be sanitised thoroughly twice every day. Zilla Parishad’s department of secondary and higher secondary education and education officer would be responsible for monitoring this.
Meanwhile, the schools in rural areas are set to open from January 27.
