COVID-19: Nagpur district reports 279 fresh cases, tally reaches 136377

The rise and drop in daily COVID-19 cases continue as the second capital of the state reported 279 fresh cases on February 8. In the day, 5 people succumbed to the infection. After today’s count, the cumulative number of positive cases reached 136377. The total number of deaths in the district have reached to 4197.

From the total deaths so far, 749 deaths are from the rural, 2734 from city and the rest 714 from out of Nagpur, an official release said.

After the fresh updates, the total active cases in the city now stands at 3231 including asymptomatic cases advised for home isolation.

Today the number of persons becoming corona-free too is better due to which recovery rate too, witnessed improvement. Of course, the district recovery rate has not able to cross the national recovery yet. With 271 persons became free of the infection in the day taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 128949 (including 71870 home isolation recoveries). After today’s update the recovery rate stands at 94.55%.

Today’s 279 positive cases were reported from various hospitals.

AIIMS (14), GMC (25), IGGMC (02), MAFSU (00), NEERI (19), RTMNU (28) Private Lab (155) and Antigen (36).

Today’s 5 fatality cases belonged to:
Rural (1) City (2) and out of city (2)
