Individuals with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities are at risk for Dental diseases and face substantial challenges in accessing both routine and preventive dental services. Factors contributing to this problem include significantly higher rates of dental caries, poor oral hygiene, and lack of awareness among individuals and caregivers.
Understanding this strong need to create awareness, SVK Shikshan Sanstha & CRC, Nagpur (Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India) in association with the Federation of Special Care Dentistry, organised a National Webinar on Oral Health Care for People with Disabilities which was attended by a large number of Special Educators, Caregivers and Parents of Differently Abled People from around the Country.
Dr.Srinivas Namineni, President Federation of Special Care Dentistry and a leading Pediatric & Special Care Dentist from Hyderabad was the Chief Guest.
In his inaugural address, he appreciated the efforts of SVK&CRC and further urged the participants to take Oral Health Care seriously and also follow certain procedures for the Dental hygiene of their wards.

She highlighted the importance of early dental care and various oral health care practices, suitable for People with Disabilities, which can prevent many dental problems.
Her enriching talk was followed by a Question & Answer session, in which highly inquisitive Parents participated by asking many queries related to brushing skills, ingredients in toothpaste, advisable for people with Disabilities, various cleaning methods, etc.
