With slight drop in COVID-19 cases the second capital of the state on Friday reported spike in the death cases with 35 people succumbing to the novel virus, while the district recorded 3235 fresh cases, an official release said.
The caseload in the district rose to 185787 and death toll reached 4563. The recovery rate recorded today was 83.78 percent.
As many as 1245 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the total of recoveries to 155655 including 83296 home recoveries.
Today’s 3235 positive cases were reported from various hospitals.

The rise in COVID 19 positive figures is an indication that the virus is spreading at a faster pace. Secondly, people are blatantly violating the rules made to control the spread. The situation is alarming and the threat of total lockdown looms large on the entire region.
