The Maharashtra Government has modified its ‘Break The Chain’ order of May 12, in which it was made mandatory for the truck drivers and cleaners of the cargo entering the state, to have a negative RTPCR report of 48 hours.
According to the new notification drives will be allowed to enter the state without RTCPR report after checking the temperature. The order further states that if the drive and their colleagues display and sign of any symptoms then they will be directed to the nearest COVID Care Center for further checkup.
The new order reads “In the case of cargo carriers, not more than two people (one driver + cleaner/helper) generally or in specific cases of long distance and emergency cargo carriers not more than three people (two drivers + one cleaner/ helper) may be allowed to travel in the same. If these cargo carriers are originating from outside the state, these may be allowed to enter into the State only after checking for temperature and any other symptoms as well as status of each person on Arogya Setu. If any one is found to display any of the symptoms or temperature or if the status in Arogya Setu for any of the persons is not ‘Safe ‘then all the persons shall be directed to nearest Covid Care Center for further investigation.â€
Kukku Marwaha, President of the Nagpur Truckers Unity, while talking to The Live Nagpur informed about the new notification. Marwaha added that the Government has taken cognizance of the real problem faced by the truckers.
