Due to the incomplete construction of cement roads and potholes in the city, some of the bus routes of ‘Aapli Bus’ have been changed. Citizens due to this are suffering with inconvenience as no prior information was given to them.
These routes include Kamptee, Hingna, Pardi, Sitabuldi to Yashodhara Nagar, Sitabuldi to Nagsen Van.
It has also been learned that routes going towards 20 different parts of the city have been changed.
The bus ferries are taking longer as there are pot holes on the roads Making passengers to keep waiting for the buses.
According to officials in transport department, the repairing cost has gone up by 30 per cent due to increase in the number of faulty buses. Brakes, tyres and shockup of the buses are getting affected due to bad roads.
On the other hand, 234 buses were to be converted to CNG by June 20, 2021. However, NMC has succeeded in converting only 70 buses to CNG till August 29.
65% buses on road out of 438 buses of corporation, 299 buses are running. This means that about 65% of buses are running in the city at present.
It is to be noted that trade has begun as Covid infection has subsided. Similarly, festivals are just around the corner.
Also. the market is crowded due to festive season. Hence, people in the city are facing the plight due to this.
