NDS takes action against city coaching classes for violating COVID norms

The Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation on Wednesday took action against two coaching classes after finding more than 50 percent students in the classroom.

The NDS acted against Career Academy under the Gandhibagh zone of the city and Honours Classes in Mahal. The number of students in those classes was exceeding the capacity of the classrooms.

Notably a fine of 25,000 was imposed on each of the two classes.

Considering the threat of infection spread, schools and colleges are being kept closed. Similarly, the coaching classes are allowed to run classes at 50 per cent capacity

Meanwhile, in the wake of rising COVID cases in the city, the municipal administration is all set to implement all the safety norms amid the threat of possible third Covid wave.

On Wednesday, total of 42 establishments including marriage halls, lawns were inspected.

The action was taken under the supervision of municipal commissioner Radhakrishnan B by NDS chief Veersen Tambe
