With the ever-increasing emphasis on making cashless payment at all levels, the use of Maha Card, Nagpur Metro’s common mobility card, is also increasing by the day. The use of Maha Card has witnessed a steady rise and is pegged at 15 % as of now. As the trend is certain to continue in the coming days, the percentage of use of Maha Card is also certain to go up in future.
In fact, to further boost the Maha Card usage and avoid use of cash for ticket-related transactions, Maha Metro has initiated a Lucky Draw system. Accordingly, the draw will be held every month and the person using the Maha Card for maximum transactions in a month will be awarded. The first three maximum users of Maha Card would awarded by Maha Metro Nagpur.
On October 22, a record 3,419 persons used the Maha Card to buy tickets, which was 15% of the total tickets purchased on that day. Maha Metro appeals to commuters to use the common mobility card in larger numbers. The card is available at all metro stations at ticket counters and special stalls set up for this purpose on certain occasions. The card can be obtained by paying ₹ 150. It can be charged ranging from ₹ 100 to ₹ 2,000 to buy tickets. The card can be charged at the metro stations.
Maha Metro has always promoted the cause of cashless payment. Other than Maha Card, the Organization also encourages the use of App for paying the journey fare. The App can be downloaded using QR Code and fare can be paid after completing due formalities. The use of Maha Card or App for payment would not just promote the cause of digital payment, avoid cash transactions but also reduce the time spent on buying a ticket for Metro train journey.
