The Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) of Nagpur Municipal Corporation has intensified the action against plastic kite sellers in the city. In a biggest crack down on Saturday, the squad in cooperation with Pachpaoli police seized as many as 8,100 plastic kites at Bangali Punja, behind railway crossing, worth over Rs 87,150/-.
On a tip-off about stocking of plastic kites, the squad raided the house of Mohammad Khan and seized the kites. Sonone, Ashi Nagar Zone Chief, and his team raided the house of Khan and seized the kites. This is for the second time Khan has involved in the offence and hence NMC imposed a fine of Rs 10,000/- to him.
Similarly, the squad also seized 100 plastic kites in Juni Shukrawari area and imposed a fine of Rs 3000/- to the kite seller.
The action was taken under the guidance of Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner, and Veersen Tambe, Chief of NDS.
