Former Maharashtra Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, along with a large number of Bharatiya Janata Party workers have lodged a complaint against Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee Nana Patole. Â
Patole had made derogatory statement against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during informal discussion with his party workers in Bhandara. The video of his remarks against Modi became viral on social media.
Bawankule lodged the complaint with Koradi Police Station. He along with party workers are sitting in front of the Police Station, demanding registering FIR against Patole and his arrest.
Patole while campaigning in Bhandara and Gondia Zilla Parishad elections allegedly said, “He can beat Modi. He can abuse Modiâ€. As the video became viral Patole said that the statement referred to a village goon Modi and not the prime Minister.
Bhandara-Gondia MP Sunil Mendhe (BJP) also lodged complaint against Patole in Bhandara. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has lodged similar complaint in Nagpur. The party leaders continue to lodge complaint against Patole in across the state. The demand of immediate arrest of Patole is also being raised.
BJP State Chief Chandrakant Patil, former minister Sudhir Mungantiwar and others have also condemned Patole’s statement.
