Smart Waste Management System based on QR code under Swacch Bharat campaign will start from Friday in order to make garbage collection system extensive and bring transparency in it, informed Naagpur Smart & Sustainable City Development Corporation Ltd (NSSCDC).
Dayashankar Tiwari, the Mayor, will make beginning of the system on Friday at 9 am at Itwari Tonga Stand, Madhavrao Mukaji Chowk. It is being started at the initiative by the Mayor. The system is being operated based on ICT by NSSCDC and Nagpur Municipal Corporation. On experimental basis, wastes/garbage would be collected from Prabhag no: 19 and 22 in Gandhibag zone.
Under the scheme, the workers would make geo-tagging of every home and paste QR code sticker on the door. The Central Government has under the campaign allowed local-self bodies to collect, tracking and monitoring with the recognised company. The sanitation worker would scan QR Code by his mobile set and collect garbage by weighing.
This is for the first that garbage would be collected in the city by this system. The garbage would be collected from the homes at a particular time.
Shraddha Pathak, Chairperson, Gandhibag zone, Adv Sanjay Balpande, Sarla Nayak, Vidya Kanhere, Corporators, Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner, and Buvaneswari S, Chief Executive Officer, NSSCDC, will be prominently present.
