Social Development Department of NMC distributed cheques worth Rs 23 lakh to 46 persons with disabilities covered under nine welfare schemes with each person getting Rs 50,000/- for self employment at a function held here on Monday.
The function was held in Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Hall in which Vijay Humne, Depuity Commissioner, and guests distributed the cheques. Humne also gave away cheques worth Rs 3.96 lakh to seven beneficiaries for purchasing laptops. Dinkar Umredkar, Social Development Officer, Vinay Trikolwar, Khobragade, Bagde and others were present.
