The wait for students seeking admission to engineering, pharmacy, agriculture, and other technical courses has grown longer as the CET cell has extended the date of MHT-CET.
Earlier, the exam was scheduled to start on June 20. Now, it will start on August 5. Apart from this, the date of the CET examination for admission to various degree and postgraduate courses in the higher education department has also been extended till August 2.
According to CET cell commissioner Ravindra Jagtap, the decision has been taken keeping in mind the interests of the students.
Sources said the concerns of the students and colleges will increase as the process of university admission has already been started. Students
enrolled in engineering, pharmacy, and other professional courses were waiting for CET.
“With the delay in the conduction of CET, these students now tend to enroll in other courses. This may result in vacant seats in professional courses,” sources said.
