The State Election Commission has declared election programme to elect members of 92 municipal councils and 4 nagar panchayats from 17 districts, where range of monsoon is comparatively less. Polling will be held on August 8 from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm.
As per election programme issued by Kiran Kurundkar, Secretary, State Election Commission, on Friday, the election programme would be announced by the respective Collectors on July 20.
The contestants can file nomination papers on the decided website by the Commission from July 22 to 28 while the Returning Officers would actually accept them on July 22 and 23. The scrutiny of nomination papers and displaying of candidates’ lists would be held on July 29 from 11 am.
The last date for withdrawal is August 4 upto 3 pm. The election will be held on August 18 while counting of voters would begin on August 19 from 10 am and announcing the results.
