Witnessed by a sea of proud and admiring eyes, the most capable, dedicated and committed
students of Class X, Centre Point School, WN came together on 2 nd July, 2022 to form the esteemed Student Council for the current academic session.
The first prestigious event of the institution’s calendar, every year the Investiture Ceremony marks the beginning of healthy competition between the four Houses of the school who are ably supported by the School Captain and the School Vice-Captain. It promises students ample opportunities to shape and develop their personalities.
The Investiture Ceremony marks the culmination of a democratic election process that is characterized by transparency and impartiality. Graced by the Principal, Kanchan Ukey, the Vice Principals Deepa Chakraborty and Jayati Chakraborti, parents and teachers, the ceremony began with a prayer song melodiously rendered by the School Choir.
The comperes for the day, Abhinav Somani and Arya Pawar, former Student Council members smoothly anchored the proceedings as they invited all the esteemed guests and House teachers to honour the Council members with their sashes and badges.
The proud moments continued as members of all the four Houses as well as the School Captain, Adya Girhe and the School Vice-Captain, Avni Toshniwal took the oath, solemnly pledging themselves to serve their school and their Houses to the best of their abilities. It was heartening to hear all the young and spirited leaders giving expression to their views on the occasion, committing themselves to leading their teams with dedication and setting their own set of goals to ‘strive even harder and soar even higher’.
Extending her hearty congratulations to each and every member of the Council, Ukey was all praise for the positive attributes shown by them which made them worthy of holding their coveted posts.
Encouraging them to become role models for the whole school, she advised them to work with positivity and patience in their conduct as they represented an important bridge between the students and the management. She not only also extended a big ‘thank you’ to all the proud parents who played such an instrumental role in their children’s success but also to all the teachers who worked so hard to organize the event.
After rendering the School Anthem and the National Anthem on a concluding note, the Council members along with the Principal, Vice Principals, House Heads and House Activity in-charge teachers Mrs Beena Samuel, Aparna Dalvi and Pratibha Jambulkar proceeded for a photography session to capture their golden moments for a lifetime.
With such a memorable start to an exciting year of healthy competition, here’s wishing all the four Houses the very best in all their endeavours. May the best one steal the limelight!
