South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) has organised ‘Brahmanaad’, a classical music programme, on October 9 at 6.30 am at zone’s campus.
Pt Vikas Kashalkar from Pune will present classical music songs and he belongs to Gwalior gharana. He took primary training in classical singing from his father N D Kashalkar. Later, he underwent rigorous training under tutelage of Pt. Gajananrao Joshi, a renowned Violin player who represented Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra gharana.
Kashalkar has performed in various programme held in various part of country and abroad and he was awarded Sangeet Bhushan Puraskar in 2008, Rama Madhav Puraskar in 2011, National Award for audio programme in 2007, Best Guru Sangeetacharya Puraskar.
He is presently Acharya of Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay Mandal. Kashalkar will be accompanied on Table by Amar Kolhatkar, on Harmonium by Pravin Kaslikar while Parimal Kolhatkar will assist in vocal.
