Ashadeep Apang Mahila Bal Vikas Sanstha in collaboration with Rotary Club of Nagpur Downtown and Vidarbha Samshodhan Mandal organised “Divyang Kala Darshan” to commemorate the International Day of Persons With Disabilities in the V.V.Mirashi Hall of Vidarbha Samshodhan Mandal.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by welcoming the dignitaries.
Dr. Pratima Shastri (President Ashadeep) in her introductory remarks highlighted the significance of support of organisations like Rotary assistance in the journey of empowerment of Divyangs. Further, she emphasised that public participation will immensely contribute to the cause of the capacity building of differently abled persons.
Praising the progress made by Ashadeep in the field of Divyang empowerment, Dr. Prateeksha Mayee put forward the idea of felicitating persons with disabilities who have overcome their ailments with dedication and determination.In conclusion of her address, she congratulated all the awardees who were chosen for the Vocational Excellence Award.
Archana Kove, a visually impaired dancer performed Ganesh Vandana and received applause in praise when she enthralled the audience.
Sheetal Kimmatkar ( deaf and dumb magician), Chanda Kale (polio affected doll maker )and Khushal Nikure ( visually impaired massaj thrapist) received Vocational Excellence Awards sponsored by Rotary Club of Nagpur Downtown on the occasion.
Ishwari Pande was specially felicitated as her name entered the Asia Book of World Records.
Singers of the Divya Gunjan orchestra rendered songs entertaining the attendees and received appreciation for the musical treat. All the singers received a token of appreciation from the dignitaries. Shri L. B. Patil praised all divyang artists and wished them sucess.Aparna Kulkarni proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Vrinda Joglekar compered the programme.
