Kotwali Police have registered a case against a coaching institute operator for allegedly defrauding 60 parents of ₹76.75 Lakh in tuition fees before abruptly shutting down his institute.
According to the complaint filed by Nilesh Premnarayan Khandelwal (48), a resident of Maskasath, Lalganj Road, Itwari, Nagpur, and 59 other parents, the accused D.K. Goyal, a resident of Vijay Mandal Enclave, Sarvapriya Vihar, New Delhi, ran FIIT-JEE coaching classes in Old Nandanvan, Kotwali. He had collected two years’ worth of tuition fees from students preparing for competitive exams.
However, on January 1, 2025, at around 10:00 AM, Goyal allegedly shut down the institute without prior notice and went missing, leaving students and their families in distress.
Following multiple complaints, Kotwali Police registered a case against him under BNS Sections 318(4) and 316(2).
Authorities are actively working to locate the accused and recover the defrauded amount.
