The by-elections for five seats of Maharashtra Legislative Council will be held on March 27. The seats have fallen vacant falling as Amasha Padvi, Pravin Datke, Rajesh Vitekar, Ramesh Karad and Gop[ichand Padalkar got elected to the Assembly and resigned from the Council.
The polling will be held on March 27 and counting of votes will begin immediately after the polling. The notification will be issued on March 10, and the last date for filing nominations will be March 17. The scrutiny of nomination forms will be carried out on March 18 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations will be March 20. Polling on March 27 will be held between 9 am and 4 pm. The counting will begin at 5 pm on the same day and the entire procedure is expected to be completed by March 29.
