Police launched a major operation at Samvidhan Square on Tuesday night, detaining several protesters participating in the CJP-led agitation demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged examination irregularities. As the crowd swelled, police personnel moved in and began taking protesters into custody to disperse the demonstration.
The protest had drawn a large number of students, youth, and CJP supporters, who raised slogans against the Central Government and demanded accountability in the education system. Heavy police deployment was witnessed at the protest site as authorities detained the demonstrators and shifted them in police vehicles. The situation remained under control amid tight security arrangements.
