The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has appealed to citizens to remain vigilant as the city has reported 15 laboratory-confirmed H1N1 (Swine Flu) cases in July 2026, including 13 cases within NMC limits. Since January 2026, a total of 25 confirmed H1N1 cases have been recorded.
NMC Medical Health Officer Dr. Deepak Selokar said the civic body is closely monitoring Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) cases across government and private hospitals. Citizens, especially senior citizens, pregnant women, children under five, and people with diabetes, heart, kidney, lung diseases, or weakened immunity, have been advised to seek immediate medical attention if they develop symptoms such as fever, cough, cold, sore throat, or difficulty breathing, and to avoid self-medication.
The NMC has intensified surveillance, daily monitoring of H1N1 cases, public awareness campaigns, and treatment preparedness, urging residents to stay alert but not panic.
