The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will conduct a Special E-KYC Service Fortnight from August 1 to 15, 2026, to complete the E-KYC process for eligible beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). The decision was reviewed during a meeting chaired by NMC Commissioner Dr. Vipin.
The Commissioner directed officials to ensure effective planning so that the maximum number of eligible beneficiaries complete their E-KYC during the campaign. He instructed departments to reach every eligible beneficiary through coordinated efforts and facilitate the process efficiently.
The review meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner (City) Ankit, Medical Health Officer Dr. Deepak Selokar, Additional Medical Health Officer Dr. Narendra Bahirwar, Epidemiologist Dr. Govardhan Navkhare, PMJAY Coordinator Dr. Nagarkar, Chauhan, Food and Civil Supplies Department Coordinator Bawankule, CRC Centre Coordinator Watte, and other concerned officials.
The E-KYC process is being carried out through ASHA workers, Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs), Urban Health and Wellness Centres (UHWCs), fair price shop dealers, CRC centres, and authorised portal ID holders. The NMC Health Department has appealed to all eligible beneficiaries to complete their E-KYC during the special drive.
According to the civic body, 3,14,200 Ayushman cards have already been distributed in the NMC area. As many as 1,157 ASHA workers are actively engaged in the PMJAY E-KYC process. Between December 1, 2025, and July 2026, E-KYC of 2,68,575 beneficiaries has been completed through ASHA workers. The remaining eligible beneficiaries will be covered during the special campaign from August 1 to 15.
Under the Ayushman Bharat PMJAY and Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, beneficiaries are entitled to 1,256 medical treatments and surgical procedures at government and empanelled private hospitals. Each eligible family receives health insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh annually, while senior citizens aged 70 years and above are eligible for an additional ₹5 lakh in health coverage.
Ayushman cards can also be generated through Arogya Mitras at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMC), and 43 empanelled private hospitals across Nagpur.
Beneficiaries can also generate their Ayushman cards using the Ayushman App or through the National Health Authority beneficiary portal by completing the E-KYC process using their Aadhaar number and Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Once the E-KYC is completed, the Ayushman card can be downloaded and printed.
The NMC Health Department has urged all eligible citizens to participate in the Special E-KYC Service Fortnight from August 1 to 15 and complete their PMJAY E-KYC to avail the benefits of the government’s health insurance schemes.
