Four years after Delhi University adopted the CUET-based admission process, BCom (Hons) remains the most sought-after undergraduate programme, attracting the highest number of applications across colleges. Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) continues to be the top choice among students.
For the 2025–26 academic session, the university has received over 3.05 lakh registrations for undergraduate admissions — the highest since the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) was introduced.
According to a media report, Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi said, “Simulated ranks — provisional indications of possible admission based on submitted preferences — have been allotted to the applicants as of 5 pm on Tuesday. This year, we will only be taking extra allocations in Languages in North campus colleges, since there is less movement or withdrawal of students in these colleges. In the rest of the colleges, like the evening ones, we have slotted extra allocation capacities, similar to last year, for seats under all categories.”
According to the university, 2.39 lakh candidates successfully submitted their preferences during Phase II of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), which began after the CUET results were announced on June 17.
Applicants can revise their preferences until 11:59 pm on July 16.
The first list of CSAS seat allocations will be released on July 19 at 5 PM.

Trends Post-CUET
The 2025 admission cycle reflects a mix of continuing trends and a few notable changes compared to previous years.
B.Com and B.Com (Hons.) continue to dominate applicant preferences, maintaining the strong demand seen in 2022, 2023, and 2024. In 2022, nine out of the ten most-selected college-programme combinations were in the commerce stream. Similarly, in 2023, B.Com emerged as the top preferred course, attracting over 72,000 applicants.
These figures highlight the sustained popularity of commerce courses among undergraduate aspirants, especially in the post-CUET admission landscape.
The popularity of BA (Hons.) English and BA (Hons.) Political Science has also remained consistent over the years, with steady interest from applicants.
Colleges such as Kirori Mal, Hindu, Hansraj, and SRCC have continued to draw the highest number of applications. This trend remains unchanged in 2025, with SRCC, Hindu College, Hansraj College, and St. Stephen’s College featuring prominently in students’ preference lists.
The number of applicants has remained stable at over 2.4 lakh since 2023. In the 2025 cycle, 2.39 lakh candidates submitted their preferences, showing a slight dip compared to 2.45 lakh in the previous two years.
The use of simulated ranks and a modification window has been a consistent feature of the admission process since 2022. While the overall system has remained largely unchanged, the number of college-programme combinations listed by candidates has increased significantly this year, reflecting a broader range of options being explored by students.
