Students of Classes VII, VIII and IX will get an opportunity to explore science beyond textbooks as the Raman Science Centre and Planetarium, Nagpur, is set to organise a ‘Hands-on Experimental Science’ programme from July 26.
The Raman Science Centre and Planetarium, a unit of the National Council of Science Museums under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will conduct the programme over six Sundays between July 26 and August 30, 2026. Sessions will be held from 10 am to 4 pm.
The initiative is aimed at promoting experiential and inquiry-based learning in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by encouraging students to understand scientific concepts through observation, experiments and practical activities rather than conventional classroom instruction.
Participants will perform experiments under the supervision of experts, enabling them to grasp scientific principles in an engaging and hands-on manner.
The programme will include sessions on topics such as ‘Measurements’, ‘Magnetism’, ‘Electricity’, ‘Understanding and Classification of Chemical Reactions’ and ‘Exploring the Microworld’.
