The Maharashtra State CET Cell has given engineering and management aspirants additional time to complete the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) registration for the 2026-27 academic session by extending the deadline to July 16.
The decision comes as a relief for thousands of students who were unable to complete the application process before the earlier deadline of July 12. The extension is expected to particularly benefit candidates from colleges under Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), many of whom are still waiting for their final-year marksheets required for admission formalities.
The CET Cell has advised all candidates who appeared for the MAH CET examinations conducted in April and May to complete their registration, upload documents and finish the verification process within the revised schedule.
So far, 2,76,794 candidates have registered for admissions to BE/BTech and MBA/MMS programmes across Maharashtra. Engineering courses have attracted the highest number of applicants, with 2,28,536 registrations, while 48,258 students have applied for MBA and MMS programmes.
As part of the admission process, candidates must submit their applications online, upload the necessary documents and select a mode for verification. Applicants opting for E-Scrutiny can complete document verification online without visiting any centre, while those choosing Physical Scrutiny are required to report to the nearest Scrutiny Centre or Facilitation Centre for verification.
The CET Cell has also clarified that candidates who appeared for the MAH CET 2026 examinations for these courses will not be charged any CAP registration fee. However, applicants belonging to NRI, OCI, PIO and Foreign National categories, as well as children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, will have to pay the prescribed non-refundable registration fee.
According to the revised admission schedule, the provisional merit list will be released on July 19. Candidates will be allowed to submit objections or grievances between July 20 and July 22, while the final merit list is scheduled to be published on July 24.
